My story
Throughout my life, creating has served as a driving force, a way to canalize energy and express the inarticulate. My path has thus led me from photography to design - for the past 7 years creating silk scarves for the brand I co-founded, lescarf, with designs frequently featured in magazines such as Vogue and New York Magazine - and eventually back to where I once started as a child, where my heart lies; creating art.
My painting process is a harmonized collaboration between a disciplined technique and intuition. Creating a story and making a vision come to life upon multiple layers of color as well as simply taking in the final piece generates a register of emotions - fulfillment, fascination or pure harmony. My hope is that this translates to the viewer as well.
The inspiration
My work find their roots in the natural world and photographs I have taken over the years - fragments of light, color, and memory gathered across continents.
In painting, I seek not to replicate the view, but to distill what remained with me; the rhythm of a horizon, the silence of a valley, the movement of wind or sea.
